Rainy Season (aka Summer) Is Finally Here

Much needed rain in the afternoons has started here on Sanibel.  This is good news for southwest Florida which has had a deficit in rainfall this summer.  In June Naples was below average by 10.34" of rain, now with the rain picking up we hope to return to normal rain levels.

Yes Summer can be hot for Sanibel and Captiva but the afternoon rains cool the islands with the onshore breezes.  We are often several degrees cooler than inland communities during the summer.  Another great part of afternoon storms is going to the beach and watching the waves get bigger as the storms roll in.
